$12.00 Flowers!

Ok, so I know that I am a total dork for blogging about my flowers but I couldn't help it. They are so beautiful and only cost us $12.00! This spring, anytime we saw flowers Kyson would tell me that we needed flowers at our house. Well, I didn't want to spend the money to plant flowers this year but I felt bad because Kyson wanted flowers so bad! So, we were at home depot one day and I saw the seed packets and I thought hey, maybe we should give these a try. We bought six packs of seeds, planted them and this was our result. They have grown like crazy and have actually grown taller than our three burning bush plants. So if there are any of you out there who are wondering if you should give seeds a try, I would definitely say yes! We now plan to plant seeds every year!

Look the flowers are the same height as Kyson!

Deer Creek

Last Saturday we decided to go to Deer Creek with my family. We left around 10:30 and when we got to the lake it was only 70 degrees. It was a little chilly at first cruising on the boat but luckily it warmed up and felt perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. The water was still cold but it wasn't cold enough to keep us from getting in or should I say Rob and Kyson, Camree and I only got in up to our waist's.

My two handsome boys! I don't know of anything better to do on a Saturday than to be out on the lake with your family! Thanks Mom and Dad for such a fun day.

Cecret Lake

On Thursday night we decided to do number two on the list which was to hike to Cecret Lake. It was about a two mile hike, one mile up and one mile back. Kyson hiked the whole way and did great! It took a little longer than we thought it would but we made it back just as it was getting dark! Luckily Rob was prepared and brought flashlights and Kyson thought it was great to shine the flashlight and show us the way!
We found this tree on the way up and it was the perfect spot to take a picture.

I was surprised to see how many wild flowers were still in bloom.

Half way up I decided to carry Camree to give my legs a little more of a work out! Too bad she is such a tiny little thing.
Once we made it to the top Kyson wanted to go swimming! I'm sure if he would have felt the water he would have changed his mind real fast. Despite the mosquitoes the hike was a success! We are lucky to live close to so many beautiful places.

Silver Lake

For family night we decided to go to Silver Lake. Rob has decided that he is going to make a list of everything that he wants to do in the mountains before the summer is over. He says that every year at the end of the summer we complain that we didn't spend enough time in the mountains. He decided to make this list so that the same thing won't happen again and Silver Lake was our first stop. It was so beautiful and Kyson loved hiking around! I can't believe I have lived here my entire life and never remember coming here before.

Here is Camree in the Hiking backpack. It is actually pretty comfortable to wear and the kids love it!

By the time we left it was starting to get pretty cold so Camree and I had to stay warm in our hoodies. It was such a fun night and I am glad, despite my protest, that Rob talked me into going!

Lagoon!

Last Saturday was Rob's work Lagoon Day! We decided to take Kyson this year by himself and let him have a special day with just Mom and Dad. Breanne and Chris watched Camree for us which was great because she loves them! It was so funny before we left Kyson said,"Mom I can't wait to ride the Holy Ghost!" We figured out that he was meaning to say roller coaster. When I was saying it he thought I was saying roller "ghoster" and some how he got it all confused. So cute! The first ride he wanted to go on was "The big wheel." So the Sky Scraper Ferris Wheel was our first stop.

Our next stop was the Lady Bug Drop! As you can tell by this picture he was a little nervous but as soon as it was over he was ready to go again.

The Oddessey was a new ride this year. It basically goes around in circles and get's you wet! Rob get's sick really easy on rides so that meant that Mommy got to go on this one.

Kyson thought that it was so cool that he got to drive in the car all by himself. Right before he got in the car he said,"Go over there and I will drive and meet you!" as he was pointing to the exit.

We had such a good time and had to bribe him with a treat to get him to leave at 10:30 p.m. We can't wait for next year and hope that he has grown a few inches! He is such a dare devil and is still 6 inches too short to go on any of the big "Holy Ghost's!" (I guess he is still only three.) Hopefully in 2 years he will be able to go on whatever he wants!

24th of July

Ok so I know that I am a little bit behind, but I wanted to start my posts with Lake Powell so I have a little catching up to do. On the 24th of July we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Featherstone's house for a BBQ and then we walked over to Butler middle school to watch the fireworks! It was so much fun. Kyson is at the age that he loves anything that deals with fire. He is all smiles holding his sparklers!

Rob decided to do like ten sparklers at a time. I guess the fire thing never gets old!

While we were waiting for the fireworks to start we brought glow sticks to play with. Kyson made sure that everyone had one! Here we are trying to get a family shot. I've decided that it is impossible!

Grandma and Grandpa Featherstone or as Camree and Kyson call them"GG and Great Pa." Aren't they so cute!

Here is Kyson playing with his glow sticks. I don't think they get an cuter than him!

Camree watching the fireworks with her daddy! She has totally turned into a daddy's girl lately. It is so cute to watch the two of them together. She is daddy's little princess!

I told you camree is a daddy's girl! The fire work show was awesome and it was a great ending to a fun Pioneer Day!
